Anglican Mainstream posts...Christians in Uganda demand protection from Muslim extremists...

but stuff the gays... let them hang!

Anglican Mainstream posts an erotic Catholic story titled ...Confessions of a recovering lesbian

Then I met Nora. Nora lived in my freshman dorm and we had several classes together, so we began spending a lot of time together. My boyfriend encouraged the friendship... One day a few months later, however, a startling thought crossed my mind: “I’m in love with Nora.” ... That summer, we began what turned out to be a three-year affair. Nora and I chose to be roommates for my remaining two years of college...we periodically dated men while together...I never dated another woman after Nora, mostly because I never met another to whom I felt such a strong emotional attraction. The sexual attraction to women, however, never went away. I discovered that while I was still attracted to individual men, I was primarily attracted to women as a whole both sexually and emotionally.
Two years later, I met my husband...I’d finally achieved a “normal” life. Yet even then, same-sex attraction insidiously inserted itself. When I traveled out of town for work, I struggled not to go to lesbian bars...But understanding my sexuality did not make the temptations go away. I could not just turn off the habit of being sexually aroused by women. For a while, I convinced myself that as long as I wasn’t actually engaging in homosexual acts, I wasn’t sinning (i.e., fantasy is okay). The more I understood authentic chastity, however, the flimsier this excluse became. Am I “pure of heart” when indulging in sinful fantasies during the most intimate act of my marriage? ... I work hard to avoid near occasions of sin. For instance, I avoid deeply emotional friendships with women that eclipse the one with my husband. I don’t watch gay- and lesbian-themed movies. I also have trained my imagination to avoid impure fantasies. It can be tempting to fall into old thought patterns, especially if I’m tired. But if necessary, I’ll shut down physically and emotionally to avoid offending God... I’m really no different than a straight man who struggles not to objectify women. Or a straight woman who is tempted to fornicate...I’m not capable of re-ordering my broken sexuality, but as I’ve witnessed in the past decade, it can be reordered with grace and trust in Jesus. It just takes time and a desire to be healed.

Ooooh I bet the boys and girls at Anglican Mainstream found this article a bit of easy reading! I wonder...when Christian women dress up like me as a turn on, are their husbands sinning...or does the sin only occur if he starts to believe that I'm a third member in the sexual encounter. I know...let's ask sex expert, Mark Driscoll!

The White- bellied Heron is critically endangered due to habitat exploitation and disturbance.

No I can't see the white-bellied heron but there's a few yellow-bellied creatures inhabiting the environment.
What's that it says ...Stick "Father David Heron" into Google and go and see what the worst of the revisionists are like." Oh my God ...what am I seeing? ...
"I am revising this post as Mr Ould rightly objects to a comparison with Hitler. It was the Feuhrer who gassed gays. Mr Ould only wants to do what the Royal College of Psychiatrists are unable to do. Get the Bible to 'cure' them)... I mean ask any anyone... everyone knows that the bible cures gays!"

And Merve what about this bit of orthodoxy and orthopraxis... "Apparently it’s perfectly OK to say “Person A doesn’t like X”, then to say “Person B doesn’t like X”, and then to argue that you weren’t trying to say “Person A is like Person B” despite the fact you stick up photos of the both of them, that the only people you mention are those two, and that the logical reading of the piece is to lead you to the conclusion that both Person A and B are cut off the same block? Right."

Hey dad this stuff is even better...
"He does not understand why men will not bring their sons to a church in which sodomy (a sick and filthy act) is celebrated... real, strong, normal and loving fathers aren't gonna take raise their sons where sodomy (and you know exactly what I mean) is celebrated. It is sick and filthy and also a complete repudiation of one's manhood... my objections to homosexuality are much broader than the consideration of what the majority of male homos do - which is play with each others rectums... As for homos going after each the way they do - it's just that it's easiest to see right there how sick and depraved this whole movement is... And by the way, thank God (and I mean that) we don't live here in the US in some sort of PC tyranny like you do in 'Great' Britain, where the police investigate you if you offend a queer.
Yeah of course it's OK to offend a queer... Anglican clergy that intervene and correct bigotry, give the church a bad name! Clergy with good reputations must call the Archbishop of Canterbury a prostitute, Bishop Robinson shameless and ensure that the diocese loses $160 million gambling on the stock exchange! Is Peter Jensen of German descent?

Liberty Christian Ministries Skypes its way around the world telling gays their going to hell.

Registered Sex Therapist Haydn Sennit says... Much of the ministry work which I do involves helping people in countries overseas. My own personal ministry and that of Liberty goes beyond the city limits of Sydney, the state borders of New South Wales, and the coastline of Australia. I have been helping people in Malaysia, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Japan, Brazil, the United States, Mexico, and Canada, to name a few. As such I have created a Skype user name for Liberty Ministries, so that those beyond the reaches of Sydney can benefit from this work.

What so Liberty Christian Ministries Inc is taking over where Narth, Exodus and the US evangelicals left off?

It's as Haydn says... Sex is wonderful in its rightful place, but in the wrong place and in the wrong hands, it is nothing short of disastrous. It kills... But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person...It is no hanging offence to have same-sex attraction: everyone labours with sin and needs salvation from it and God is good to those who seek His forgiveness, strength, and healing. He is actually DRAWN to the wounded (Psalm 34:18). But He cannot abide those who deliberately sin and defiantly disobey, especially those who are of His house, which He will judge first.

I'm so glad Haydn's bad relationship wasn't with a woman...he could have turned into an ugly misogynist! Now Haydn I know you don't advocate sexual orientation change, or guarantee ultimate healing and wholeness without Jesus Christ, or practise therapy, or evangelise the gay community or engage in political lobbying, (oh that one's a bit suss... LCMI being Anglican and all), do not advocate exorcisms, do not advocate and practise hug and touch therapy (no probs with that one with Sydney Anglicans involved)....but Haydn you say you help people get to the spiritual, emotional, and psychological roots of these issues and find victory in relational wholeness....sounds like therapy to me!

All sounds like homophobia to me...but what would I know...I don't write fancy books, produce CDs and DVDs or speak at seminars and churches about how GLBTI people are broken

Anglican Mainstream posts shocking news of a British tennis player sporting a rainbow coloured band around her ponytail!

Oh come on ref really...you think that little rainbow coloured band as an expression of support for equal rights for GLBTI is controversial and offensive...then what about Margaret Court's words when she accused gay people of indulging in "abominable sexual practices" and described same-sex marriages, promoted by legislation introduced by the current Labor government in Australia, as "unhealthy, unnatural unions"...and don't forget how she cures gays and encourages them to marry heterosexuals... now that's an abomination!

Peter Ould puts Jeffery Johns threat of legal action into a Biblical context using...1 Corinthians 6 : 1-8 (ESV)

And let's face it...GLBTI people are the homeless when it comes to the church!

In response to the possibility of Jeffery John's lawsuit against the Anglican Church, Peter Ould posted an article on his website using 1 Corinthians 6: 1-8 . Peter Ould is concerned about who exactly Jeffery Johns will sue and adds... the Bible speaks very pertinently to the situation, quoting 1 Corinthians 6: 1-8.

Peter, is that the bit where it says..."To have lawsuits at all with one another is already a defeat for you. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded? But you yourselves wrong and defraud—even your own brothers!"
Blow me down...and I thought churches had heaps of lawyers working for them ?"

I say Bugs did you read the comments section of Peter Ould's blog... Cerebusboy... "Peter, I wasn't saying you were wrong to take the initial action. In fact, the information you have supplied surely indicates that there are all sorts of occasions where it is legitimate for someone in the church to take legal action against someone else in the church, negating the narrow interpretation of 1 Corinthians 6 that is being used to condemn Jeffrey John's (apparent) possible actions. If it was moral and not unbiblical for you to take legal action against another Christian then why does the same standard not apply to John?"

Peter Ould... "Let me be clear. I have never taken David Heron to a secular court. I haven't yet taken him to an ecclesiastical "court" (which in the first instance would be his bishop), though I have all the necessary material to do so if necessary. That said, everything I wrote above stands. David Heron has admitted 20 or so charges of "Conduct Unbecoming", some of it of a highly offensive nature. He no longer holds a licence and is on the Archbishop's list. I understand that the person who laid these charges against David Heron first went directly to him to ask him to cease and apologise, and when that didn't work went to the Bishop responsible who took it from there. Classic Biblical approach. If you want to discuss the matter further then email me, but let's stop discussing it here."

Now let me see if I've got this right...The classical Biblical approach is to set yourself up as an expert on post-gay transition, without a medical degree, and then become defensive and use lawyers to threaten legal action, when an Anglican priest of 40 years uses a satirical blog, to express his concern for the welfare of GLBTI people within his church... but it's inappropriate for Jeffery John to sue because he is gay and the church condones bigotry?
Now I've got it... I now understand the fundamentals of orthodoxy! It's absolutely
crystal!

Who told you that Fr David Heron took voluntary retirement and voluntary retirement always results in automatic suspension of a license for 6 months?
Well I just thought that David Heron might like to enter the public arena with his satire... because readers everywhere really liked his stuff!
