Anglican, and former High Court judge, the Hon Michael Kirby says ...being gay is not an anti-social choice made by an individual

FORMER High Court judge Michael Kirby told a federal parliamentary inquiry into same-sex marriage that sexual orientation is part of an individual's personality, and society must come to terms with it. He pointed out that eventhough he is one of the country's top minds his sexuality had meant he was always a second-class citizen. Kirby likened being gay to being left-handed. He added that once it was accepted that being gay was not "an anti-social choice" made by an individual it would become impossible to deny gay people the same rights as any other Australian citizen.

Now let us pray together for David Peterson and Haydn Sennitt... that their work at Liberty Christian Ministries Inc scientifically proves that being gay is a social choice made by sinners....that  way Sydney Anglicans can continue to deny gays the same rights as other Australian citizens.

Research shows that ... Atheists and agnostics are more driven by compassion to help others than are highly religious people.
That doesn't mean highly religious people don't give, according to the research to be published in the July 2012 issue of the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science. But compassion seems to drive religious people's charitable feelings less than it other groups.
"Overall, we find that for less religious people, the strength of their emotional connection to another person is critical to whether they will help that person or not," study co-author and University of California, Berkeley social psychologist Robb Willer said in a statement. "The more religious, on the other hand, may ground their generosity less in emotion, and more in other factors such as doctrine, a communal identity, or reputational concerns."

The Hon. Michael Kirby, the non ex-gay man who dared to refer to himself as an Anglican, is the newly appointed Patron of Pride in Diversity.  Mr. Kirby facilitated a panel of leading executives from IBM, KPMG, Australian Federal Police and Goldman Sachs on the importance and relevance of LGBT . Saunders says that Max's ‘There’s no such thing as a “gay cure”’, is a shoddy piece of polemic, replete with unsupported assertions and misleading statements, which does him no credit.
You see Max knows nothing about homosexuality being gay himself! Max sinned badly when he criticised Anglican Mainstream's bus campaign by saying... But amid all the furious debate about the adverts, one central fact was ignored. It’s not the prejudice I take issue with, but the quackery. The underlying suggestion was that it is possible to alter one’s sexual orientation. This moves the debate from the realms of theology and freedom of expression directly into the realm of psychology and scientific evidence. Here there is an extensive amount of empirical, objective research into the matter and it is refreshingly clear in this regard. Sexual orientation is an enduring, fundamental part of a person’s psychological make-up and is remarkably resistant to attempts to alter it. In fact, evidence suggests that attempts to change a person’s sexuality – or gay cure therapies” as they are sometimes known – are not just ineffective but dangerous.’

Calam..I just wanted to say a prayer for the Director of Liberty Christian Ministries Inc, David Peterson, that he is wise in his selection and guidance of Haydn Sennitt, when tampering with people's identities, encouraging naive Christian women to marry gay men and all the future problems that could emerge... oh Calam...let's not forget all those horses with identity disorders,that featured on the Anglican Mainstream website so the writers could use bestality to denigrate homosexuals.
