Is the concept of 'Evangelicals without Blowhards' the same as 'Anglicans without GAFCONITES'?

Sydney Anglicans featured an article published in the opinion section of the New York Times about the type of evangelism that polarises society. Nicholas Kristof was criticising judgemental evangelical extremists whilst trying to pay tribute to Christians who perform great service throughout the world, alongside humanitarians. He says that because of self righteous extremists...the entire evangelical movement often has been pilloried among progressives as reactionary, myopic, anti-intellectual and, if anything, immoral. He argues that this kind of thinking is reverse bigotry or intolerance, when many evangelicals have actually become increasingly engaged in issues of global poverty and justice.
I’m not particularly religious myself, but I stand in awe of those I’ve seen risking their lives in this way — and it sickens me to see that faith mocked at New York cocktail parties.
Why does all this matter? Because religious people and secular people alike do fantastic work on humanitarian issues — but they often don’t work together because of mutual suspicions. If we could bridge this “God gulf,” we would make far more progress on the world’s ills.
And that would be, well, a godsend.

Perhaps when moderate Christians stand up together and denounce Christian extremism for what it is...BIGOTRY, and seek to rid the church of it's practices of inequality and unethical practices of hypocrisy, materialism and elitism, then maybe Christianity may regain its self respect.

Hey Bert, let's drink to the submission of women, and the sexual conversion of gays here and abroard, and may our Godly discrimination promote widespread community hatred of anyone who doesn't believe or behave as we do.

I'll drink to that Alf... but if there's an increase in gay bashings or suicides, or women being physically or emotionally abused by their male partners, then it's those cultural Christians, who are to blame! It's all baloney...that bit that evangelicals like us contribute to an increase in prejudice related violence!

Ouch! Mark Thompson, the President of The Anglican Church League retaliates as Muriel Porter attacks the Sydney Diocese...and Peter Jensen!

Mark Thompson feels that... Muriel Porter believes the Sydney Diocese experiment is faltering. The financial crisis and the absence of a recognised successor to Peter Jensen provide, from her perspective, a sliver of hope that Sydney will abandon its radicalism and join the rest of the Anglican Communion in a bright new future. However Mark says emphatically ... Evangelicals in Sydney and elsewhere hope for something quite different.

Keep Sydney Anglicans excluded because their counter intuitive rationalisation is maddening. I mean black is really white; up is really down; $160 million dollar loss, and counting, is really a measure of success! From a Sydney Anglican's perspective, Peter Jensen will go down in history for his successful economic management! And then you've got Sydney Anglican paranoia, where anything vocalised that is not written in the Bible is actually satan telling lies. Please... put a fence around them and keep them away from the rest of the Anglican Church and secular society because they are stark raving mad !

Bible verses claim that Jesus loves nukes...Christian Orthodoxy has reached a new low!

The United States Air Force has been training young missile officers about the morals and ethics of launching nuclear weapons by citing passages from the New Testament and commentary from a former member of the Nazi Party, according to newly released documents.
A PowerPoint slide is used which contains a passage from the Book of Revelation, in an attempt to explain how Jesus Christ, as the "mighty warrior," believed war to be just.

Has Mark Driscoll been working with the US Air Force? Mark reckons that "Jesus was not a long-haired … effeminate-looking dude"; rather, he had "callused hands and big biceps."..."Ultimate Fighting Jesus."
Hey Bert gathering these nuclear weapon Bible verses is a bit like what those dudes did, who sifted through the bible for passages to keep women and gays oppressed... you know the Council of Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, who used gender biased language to discriminate against women and gays!

Standfirm explains J I Packer's understanding of Christianity... where a Christian’s life is to be one of repentance of sin

Oooh, so that's why God created LGBT people... so we can be the real chosen few, who spend our whole lives repenting for being who we are! Ummm... and let's not forget the bigots who benefit from homosexuality, when seeking repentance for their relentless judgement and persecution of same-sex attracted!

Anglican Mainstream claims that true Christian Fundamentalism bases itself on the teaching of the person of Jesus Christ but says...

The real problems we Christians sometimes cause do not come from obeying Jesus, but from not obeying Jesus. Joshua took over the Promised Land, and David killed Goliath, but Jesus Christ never told his disciples to go out and commit violence in his name.

Of course I would have stirred up anti-gay sentiment by creating GAFCON... and I certainly would remain silent when my third world allies wanted to persecute and kill gays and lesbians! Anglican Mainstream has nearly got it right... it's more like I base myself on the teachings of Christian Fundamentalists as opposed to them basing themselves on my teachings... but what the heck?

Anglican Mainstream continues its twisted thinking when blaming secularists for the mass murder in Norway...aka SPIN!

Anglican Mainstream publishes a twisted piece written by Chuck Colson. Chuck blames evil and sin for the massacre in Norway. He says... You see, Norway is one of the most secular countries in Western Europe. Hardly a shred left of the Christian faith that once dominated the country. So, without that Christian understanding of fallen human nature, the people of Norway are left in mourning, but without an explanation for the horror that has befallen them.
So Christian fundamentalism rationalises the actions of a Christian fundamentalist mass murderer, by explaining it away as part of Norway's fall from God's grace... And the rationalisation goes further by implying that Christian fundamentalism is far better, than having a predominantly secular society , which is peaceful, prosperous and tolerant!

All this spin makes me sick!

Sydney Anglicans tighten their belts as their prayers go unanswered.

The Anglican Church's Sydney diocese faces another year of belt tightening and cuts to community services after its investment arm warned of a ''substantial reduction'' in its annual payout.
Two years after it lost $160 million because of a high-risk gearing strategy, the investment arm of the country's largest Anglican diocese has blamed a 71 per cent fall in earnings - to $3.2 million for the year to December - on a ''subdued performance'' by the Australian sharemarket.

The Glebe Administration Board, which manages the Sydney diocese's endowment fund, has been on a cost-cutting drive since 2008, when its share portfolio crashed during the global financial crisis. It has cut about 10 full-time staff over the past year.
But in a sign of more pain ahead, the board has recommended to the church's standing committee that the total distribution for next year be reduced to just $3.6 million -about 75 per cent of the synod's total available funds next year of $4.9 million.
The board believed the payouts in recent years were too high to allow it to meet its primary aim of maintaining the ''real value'' of the endowment fund's property. ''Regardless of market conditions, if you have got an endowment of $110 million, it is just not sustainable to be distributing amounts of $10 million a year before costs - you are going to go backwards very quickly,'' Mr Payne said.

I'm starting to think God doesn't like orthodox 'fat cats' who use their money to cause dissention and discrimination, for the ultimate goal of personal power! I wonder if Phillip Jensen actually has trouble discriminating between the word of God and satan?

Raven gets leverage on Fulcrum as he spreads the orthodox word of God!

Charles Raven of SPREAD proves that orthodox evangelicals are raving mad when they attach other evangelicals.
Raven is quoted as saying... Fulcrum is open towards just about anyone except those fellow evangelicals who are aligned with Anglican Mainstream, the GAFCON movement and of course the newly formed Anglican Mission in England (AMiE). Raven goes onto rave about how those at Fulcrum have a commitment to remain together with others in the Church of England despite their differences and work through the issues upon which they disagree. Raving further, Raven raves on ... but for a brief moment 'sees the light' Neuhaus law, he says is Where orthodoxy is optional and is tolerated as an option rather than being normative; where the orthodox are accepted only as long as they behave, as if their convictions were matters of personal preference and interpretation. If they do not keep this rule, they will be ejected. However, Raven finally loses the plot and goes stark ravin' mad, when he defends his orthodox mates at AMiE by saying...The AMiE may have small beginnings, but it does have a future because it is the manifestation of an orthodoxy which is emphatically not optional and has an objective basis and clarity in the Jerusalem Declaration. It restores the freedom of the gospel as that which we have been given to proclaim. The optional orthodoxy tolerated by Canterbury always has to take care to behave itself and respect the rules of liberal hegemony, but the biblical orthodoxy articulated afresh in Jerusalem is gloriously liberating. It will not be intimidated by superficial accusations of ‘separatism’, but will rejoice that the work of global witness is being set free from the West’s besetting sins of institutionalism, compromise and unbelief so that the gospel can be proclaimed as what it really is, the word of God and not the word of men.

Neuhaus law sounds a whole lot better than Raven's declaration of war! Live and let live seems a lot better than discrimination! Just as well Jesus is really the fulcrum!

The Archbishop of Sydney denounces the violence and murder in Norway.

The Archbishop of Sydney, Dr Peter Jensen, has expressed the sympathy of Sydney Anglicans to the Norwegian community He stated that... what motivated these evil acts is unfathomable and any twisted ideology which seeks to defend it is totally abhorrent.

However his silence about the persecution and murder of gays and lesbians in Nigeria, Uganda and Ghana has been deafening! Could that be because he believes in the criminalisation of gays and lesbians in third world countries? It has been reported that Peter Jensen can't see a connection between preaching, and the high levels of violence and extremely high levels of self-harm and suicide that young homosexuals experience in a society. Peter Jensen says... If the churches were to fall silent, the same things would apply.

What does Breivik and those at Anglican Mainstream have in common... a fascination for the ideology of Geert Wilders and The Freedom Party!

Breivik, the Norweigan who is being labelled a Christian fundamentalist found Geert Wilders and The Freedom Party's ideology attractive. His online video game buddy says...When he heard I had voted for the PVV (The Freedom Party) and so Geert Wilders, he sent me a link on line. I only opened it during the weekend and looked at it properly.I was shocked. It contained a lot of pages filled with propaganda, including videos and photographs. He wrote in the document: I just wonder whether the Dutch are already a broken nation, mentally speaking. Their political elites have chosen formal surrender and will enforce sharia and ban everyone disagreeing with this as ‘extremists’. Native Dutchmen will either have to fight back, or leave their country behind and watch it die from a distance ...
Anglican Mainstream featured an article on Geert Wilders ideology which states... All around the Western world freedom is under threat. It is often at the hand of radical minority groups that these threats are coming. Militant Muslims, radical feminists, or activist homosexuals are some of the groups whittling away our freedoms. Sadly very few Westerners are standing up to these assaults.Increasingly what once made the West great is being undermined. Faith, family and life are three such values all subject to ferocious attack. The trouble is many do not see the urgency of the hour, or the need to take a stand. Many do not know that we are heading towards the precipice as a culture...We have far too few watchmen, and those we do have are mainly ignored or scoffed at. We all pay the price in the end for such indifference and neglect. One watchman who has been speaking out loud and clear – and paying a price for it – is Dutch politician Geert Wilders. As many of you would know, he has been on trial in the Netherlands for warning about the Islamist assault on Holland and Europe. For speaking out he now has to pay the price.

Dorothy, a fanatic is someone who can't change their mind and won't change the subject, we all know those at Anglican Mainstream harbour a compulsion for a few topics!

Chris Sugden redefines human rights... and simultaneously ends poverty!

Chris Sugden of Anglican Mainstream fame finally declares poverty to be a human rights issue! He clarifies God's disearnment of sin, by declaring that starving to death is a human rights issue, but a woman using prostitution, as a means of feeding herself or her family, is no longer a human rights issue but a gospel issue! This is because Jesus told Chris Sugden, that the disadvantaged had to starve to death, and Pharisees like him must judge those who 'make ends meet' through prostitution. Chris Sugden, bigot turned human rights activist, declares that diseases like leprosy, malaria and sickle cell anemia, should be given priority by African health officials because HIV/AIDS is too political for the church!

I think Chris' strategy in ending poverty is spot on... cull the population by hanging gays, stop prostitution so the disadvantaged starve to death, and let those infected with AIDS go untreated and die!

Some people are just plain evil!

Bigots at Anglican Mainstream take a holiday!

When they weren't hunting gays and lesbians... they were hunting me!

Sydney Anglican Phillip Jensen asks...What antidote is there to affluence?

Phillip Jensen says that material atheists don't have the antidote to affluence. He declares that... their philosophy feeds the materialism of our life style. And goes onto say... For to them there is nothing more to life than the good life on earth. But placing our affluence in perspective requires living for something greater than ourselves and greater than this world. The carbon pricing debate illustrates this difficulty, as the motivation for sacrifice is ‘the environment’, ‘the future’, or ‘your (non-existent) grandchildren.’

I told you already... Sydney Anglicans hold the patent on the antidote to affluence!

Anglican Mainstream's perverse strategies exposed!

Has someone told Lisa Nolland about Romulus?

A website called Changing Attitudes has exposed the perversity of those at Anglican Mainstream. Priest and psychotherapist, Colin Howard explores the minds of the depraved at Anglican Mainstream, discussing what lies behind their sexual voyeurism. He says... Anglican Mainstream is obsessed by gay men and sex, so lesbians don’t get much of a look in. However, polyamourists and paedophiles and those who practice bestiality get coverage, which only reveals the obsessions which fascinate Anglican Mainstream’s authors, the men and the women - and we all know what it means when a person becomes so obsessed in this way. He goes onto say... Anglican Mainstream preys on Primates and bishops, feeding them their poisonous agenda which as we have seen, leads in Africa to intense prejudice and homophobia, and in Uganda and still in the UK, to the murder of gay people.

Archie Poulos asks Sydney Anglicans to reflect on their personal role in media scandals!

Archie states...Before we explore the ugly activity of juicy story seeking journalists we must ask what we have contributed to the problem. Many will probably fairly say that they are not interested in this sort journalism, but we must all take some responsibility for not having stood up ... So we must be careful to remember that we should not cast stones unless we are blameless...But those who actually engaged in despicable acts should be singled out for special blame, just as the Pharisees were for leading the people astray (Luke 11 again)... This whole process is accelerated by being able to justify your actions.

Of course not one Sydney Anglican spoke against Glenn Davies Synod motion to boycott the Lambeth Conference, when the Sydney leadership wanted to protest the appointment of that gay bishop... and I loved the huge Synod photos of me and Akinola... real totalarian stuff!

And will Sydney Anglicans continue to support the persecution of gays and lesbians within the Anglican church and the world community?

Anglican Mainstream reports attack on Christians in Nigeria but refrains from mentioning the GAFCON link to persecution of gays in Ghana!

Anglican Mainstream report that Christians in the Nigeria are under threat from a militant Islamic group, which is fighting to establish an Islamic state in the north. What Anglican Mainstream failed to report is that Christians have joined Muslims in Ghana to sway the government to rid the country of gays and lesbians! It is reported that... Ghana’s Western Region Minister, Paul Evans Aidoo MP has ordered the immediate arrest of all homosexuals in the country’s west and has tasked Ghana’s Bureau of National Investigations and security forces to round up the country’s gay population , calling upon on landlords and tenants to inform on people they suspect of being homosexuals. “All efforts are being made to get rid of these people in the society,” he said. The move by the Minister follows months of campaigning by the Christian Council of Ghana and Muslims. The Anglican Church in Ghana is a member of the Christian Council of Ghana and the Archbishop of Ghana is a member of the anti-gay group known as GAFCON.

Isn't it good to know that people of all fundamentalist faiths can get along together when they have a minority to persecute?

Matt Kennedy at Standfirm says about the Soverign Grace Ministry debarkle over pride ..."Honestly don't these people have REAL sin to confront?"

WHAT LIKE GAY PRIDE?
Matt Kennedy is critical of the pastors who think CJ Mahaney is acting too proud. Reports indicate that C J Mahaney has taken leave to do some soul searching. Matt goes onto state... they rate him on his pride, and they schedule meetings to talk about his pride, and CJ repents of 9 of 11 species of pride that they have identified, and they go back to the drawing board to identify examples of the other two species of pride, they email each other to ask if others have seen that pride, and then CJ thinks those fit under the first species of pride, and they chart the pride, and so on. Blah. Wouldn’t it be nice if occasionally love covered a multitude of sins.

Sounds like C J is being subject to
reparatory therapy! Pity Matt's love couldn't be extended to include another species of pride called gay pride!

Even SOME Sydney Anglicans think that media manipulation is repulsive!

Sydney Anglican and ex politican Karin Sowada wonders if Julia Gillard's stance on the carbon tax makes her a visionary or a woman on a suicide mission. Karin displayed an unusual level of balanced thinking and compassion (something rarely seen in Sydney Anglicans) when she wrote...The recent vilification of Julia Gillard in some sections of the public and the media has been repulsive.

Has Karin gone soft? Has she forgotten that she works for Sydney Anglicans... compassion leads to empathy and empathy is not part of the evangelical psyche

Don't worry parrot...Julia's not a lesbian or looking to be ordained!

Are those at Anglican Mainstream really Tea Party Baptists who believe in reparatory therapy like Southern Baptist Albert Mohler?

Anglican Mainstream posted Albert Mohler's article about Christianity's need for reparatory therapy, which read like a Tea Party campaign for the presidential election of Michele Bachmann. Her husband has been accused of using public funds to cure gays!
Albert Mohler states...Known as reparative therapy or sexual orientation conversion therapy, these approaches seek to assist individuals to change their sexual orientation from homosexual to heterosexual. The cultural and political debate over reparative therapy emerged when a clinic run by Marcus Bachmann, husband of Republican candidate Rep. Michele Bachmann, was accused of offering treatment and counseling intended to change sexual orientation. .. Christians cannot avoid the debate over reparative therapy, nor can we enter the debate on secular terms.
So Anglican Mainstream are rooting for us! It's comforting to know that they are taking the wrong route out of sexual sinfulnesss!
And what about those Sydney Calvinists... Theyv'e got a few mad hatters who would feel right at home with us!

Of course it is written in the Bible that Albert Mohler and Anglican evangelicals are in charge of the mental health of LGBT people and psychiatrists know nothing! Wait a minute...isn't that Scientology?

Intimacy Jensenist style...

So it's OK for a Sydney Anglican male to have sex for reproduction purposes but as far as a relationships go you say... I don't think relationships are important at all. Jesus is all I need!
Sydney Anglican Nicky Locke addressed the difficulties that some Christian men and women experience with intimacy. The piece elicited an unusual no doubt tongue in cheek response by one man!
Hey Bert I can't wait until Moore College does that whole day ontrue feelings!

Yeah Alf ...it will give a whole new perspective to the word
intimacy.

I don't have trouble with intimacy... I've listened to Phillip Jensen preach about emotions!

Muriel Porter taps into the Sydney Anglican psyche with her new book cover... that epitomises the Sydney Anglican wet dream!

Sydney Anglicans and the Threat to World Anglicanism The Sydney Experiment (Ashgate Contemporary Ecclesiology)
So Alf, next time a Sydney Anglican asks you what you do when you get a hard on in the middle of the night...say you do what any good Sydney Anglican would do and give yourself to Calvin!

Hey Bert ... how many copies are you buying?

Australian Anglican priest deserves the Victoria Cross for his bravery in speaking out against the regime that heads the Diocese of Mordor aka Sydney!

Approaching the publication of Muriel Porter's new book Sydney Anglicans and the Threat to World Anglicanism, a niave but brave priest has spoken out about what he calls spiritual abuse!
He says...What I learned from a number of undergraduates and postgraduates who had experienced the Jensenist-style Anglicanism that has infiltrated several Oxford parishes, was that bullying and spiritual coercion are at the heart of the Jensenist model of ministry, and a direct outcome of the false doctrine of headship. What is happening in many of the parishes where Jensenist clergy hold sway is – I am not afraid to name it – spiritual abuse. For me the issue came into clear focus when a student member of one of these churches began attending St Mary the Virgin, and was subjected to a barrage of emails, phone calls, even knocks on the door for impromptu chats, from fellow Jensenists warning him that to leave “the group” would mean damnation and, indeed, that going to a church like liberal St Mary’s would be worse than going no-where at all. When it became clear that he was indeed “lost” his entire peer-group for the past six years of his life cut him off as though dead... the example is not isolated. I dealt with this issue several times in England. And in Australia, in every parish I have ever worked, the back pew has been populated from time to time by people scared and scarred by their experience of church, almost inevitably of the Jensenist sort, often through youth ministry, who are, often years later, trying again in a place that they hope (but do not trust) might be more Christ-like than that which they had left behind.

I hope this brave man is ready for a character assassination or at the best censorship! For Anglican women who can't conform to the rigidity of Jensenism, it's like being pushed out onto the limb of a tree and then having the branch cut off!
